This is an original composition from the artist Marksea’s series Visualizing Bach. He states: I realize it is impossible to ‘illustrate’ a complex piece of music, which, by its nature is already abstract. My objective is to create an image that evokes one of the great baroque masters musical compositions. In the process, I hope to enrich the viewers appreciation of the original work. This mixed media composition consists of an original pigment print, appliquéd paper, acrylic paint and pastels applied to a base of hardboard. Even though the composition is clearly contemporary, the artist chose a more traditional frame to reference the underlying concept. We ship the work framed with acrylic glazing for safety.
