About the Artwork

The MASK is inspired by the Venetian Carnival. It is made of plastic, fabrics, artificial stones and natural feathers. The mask can be a decoration to hang on the wall as well as an element of a unique disguise. The masks refer to traditional rituals and beliefs. The use of a mask was associated with a change of status or social roles. They were supposed to hide, protect the individual self or separate the individual from the group. Thanks to the mask, the sphere of the sacred was entered into the sphere of the profane. The man in the costume no longer exhibited human features.
