Trisha Pena
About

Trisha Peña is an emerging artist based in Nashville, Tennessee. She came to the visual art world later in life by way of music, performing, and writing. She is a self-taught artist who fell in love with the medium by literally painting the walls of her house with invigorating and sensual treatments. Known for saying that she cannot draw a straight line, abstract work with acrylics is her most common medium, with an affinity for markedly texturized canvases. Additionally, she has several mixed media on canvas pieces. Multiple pieces have been given the “Visa” Distinction on the website Art Limited (Bordeaux, France). Current influences include Gino Savarino and Andy Morris, but her heart will always belong to Phil Ponder, who most decidedly knows how to draw a straight line.
“I just felt a compulsion to start painting seriously after I made the huge revelation about how visually stimulated I am,” she explains. “I receive great pleasure in the process because I usually have absolutely no idea how a piece will end up until it tells me ‘I’m done.’ I also find it highly spiritual as I rely on my Source to guide my creativity.”
Trisha has called the Nashville area home for over thirty years and lives in a very colorful house in Hermitage, TN.
