About

Location : Russian Federation
Born in July of 1981, in warm Moscow, former USSR, I was always keen on visual arts, often drawing and sketching until one day had distracted by an adult life.

Later in 2008 I had started with film photography, taking pictures of slightly deserted places and other people life from the distance, kept on developing and printing photos in my little studio in North of Moscow.

Came back to painting only in 2015, while spending time in Portugal volunteering on rural lavender farm. Simple yet essential place had changed my outlook on life.

One day I went for a field trip to one beautiful, picturesque coastal place and lost my phone on the way there. I suddenly had nothing to be taking pictures with, it turned out that it is hard to stop capturing places, keep them as a souvenir in your camera. The same day I found out that drawing places might be even more captivating. The objects that you draw, they do gently grow into you, wrap around your own nature and slowly dissolve in you. Truly fascinating! And so here I am now, embracing beloved colours.

My works mostly reflect on nature: dark sea, rain, trees rustling, snow and complete silence. In the last series I have tried to seize the sounds impression, from the city soundscape, music on the radio etc.
