Attilio Radice
About

Attilio Radice was born in Novara, a pleasant town in Piedmont, NW Italy.
Enthusiastic artist, Attilio’s style developed by a continuous evolution. At the very first it had origin from academic figuration, especially inspired by the Lombard naturalism of the late XIX century.
Over the years the easy touch of his brush- conceived as a spot of colour – had progressively withdrawn while the palette knife expanded the shape and the colour – the true body of his search- had got out of the way of nature to acquire force, thickness and intensity, giving space to strong contrasts and lively dissonances ; the composition is rich in movement, well balanced, never foreseen or lacking originality.
In the last period his painting is fluctuating between emotion and reason, informal and abstract : two primary characteristics of man, pursuing each other in Attilio’s style where they dissolve into a pictorial magma chromatically exalted by bright colours. The expressive power brought out by his last works shows the author most eminent endowements: strength and passion.
“ I’d like my art could astonish, disturb , seduce and give emotions “
